Here resided Eberhard Im Thurn. |
|
| House of the donzel The impressive half-timbered house in the middle of the village has once been the domicile of the reeves of Buesingen. From 1535 until 1854 it was given from Austria as feud to the noble family Im Thurn of Schaffhausen. At the end of the 17th century, it was the office of a member of the family called Eberhard Im Thurn. His kidnapping, which took place in front of the house on April 10th, 1693, was a meaningful historic event for our community. This event got ultimately in the way of the integration of Buesingen into Switzerland and lead to todays enclave/exclave situation. |
