On foot or by bike, hiking along the Rhein is an event.
Perfectly arranged BBQ places invite to make a stop and chill out. |
On foot or by bike, not only is Buesingen a paradise for swimmers but for hikers alike. Famous wildlife sanctuarys, are situated next to the Rhine: The Petri beach, a paradise for waterfowl, and the Schaarenwies (the meadow on the Schaaren), an eldorado for botanics. An idyllic and popular hiking path it starts in Buesingen at the pier leads up the stream through a forest called Rhyhoelzliwald via Laag-Gut (CH territory) to the neighbouring German town Gailingen and further on to the Swiss mediaeval town of Diessenhofen. Because this hike crossed the Swiss/German border, it is best to take your passport along, whereas you wont need a passport if you hike downstream toward Schaffhausen. Following the river Rhein, you will walk along the Rheinpromenade of Schaffhausen all the way to Neuhausen with its famous 90-foot waterfall - the Rhine Falls. An unforgettable and impressive spectacle of nature. Those who want to hike via Paradies (paradise) to Hoell (hell), can also do that from Buesingen. A ferry takes hikers and bikers to the opposite side of the river Rhein where the monastery Paradies is situated. From there, one has a lot of options to hike or bike all the way to Hoell in Diessenhofen. Our region is also an excellent recreational region during the winter time, because mountain ranges up to 900 m above sea level surround our homeland. When the valleys are still covered in wintery fogs, or the spring snowflakes are already blooming, you will find bright sunshine on the higher parts of the Reiat and Randen area. An eldorado for hikers, sun worshippers, children with their sleighs and skis, and people on their cross-country skis. Weather hotline: 0041 52 685 2747 |
